March 2015 - CURRENT STATUS
OF GREEN POND MARSH:

Green Pond Marsh, which is an Audubon Society designated important bird area (IBA) has attracted more than 160 species of birds. The core area of the marsh (about 5 acres) has been designated a wetland by the Army Corps of Engineers.

There should be an approximately 10-15 acre buffer area around the marsh to protect the fragile wetland.

The developer is proposing detention ponds that will abut 3 sides of the marsh.

This will essentially destroy the marsh.

The developer has more than 100 acres to use for development. They should leave the marsh area untouched.
